Church history
Isaiah 9:2 ….The people walking in darkness have seen a great light, on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.
Family of Faith Fellowship Church was organized/founded by the late Pastor James E. Howard. The first worship service was held on November 3, 2002 at the Sheraton Brook Hollow Hotel located at 3000 North Loop West in Houston, Texas. The Holy Spirit was present that day and this marked the beginning of our services to the Most High God!
The vision God imparted to Pastor James and First Lady Linda Howard was to establish a fellowship where people could feel free to serve, worship and use their gifts without traditional constraints. The aim was NOT to be steeped in religion, but to teach men, women, boys and girls how to have a relationship with God. The aim was to teach and preach the word of God with clarity so that all who listened could understand, learn and grow from what they would hear. In this, their lives would be truly transformed. As such we tagged ourselves as the “Transformation Station”.
From day one, God blessed our fellowship with new members and friends who were filled with His Spirit and ready to serve. We don’t have some long rich history but the presence of the Lord has resided with us Sunday after Sunday.
Yes, we’ve had our challenges! Yes we’ve had some struggles; but God has been faithful to us. He has enabled us to keep the doors opened and to be a blessing to many.
Our hearts were saddened on July 14, 2020 the day Pastor Howard departed this life and is now living in eternity with our Heavenly Father. We are so thankful to God for the vision and teachings of Pastor Howard that have been instilled in us.
After months of being without a leader, months of praying to God to send us a pastor who would lead us and walk with us, our prayers were answered. On January 15, 2021, Reverend Cedric D. Wynn became the new pastor of Family of Faith Fellowship Church. We are thankful to God for him and we pray to God for continued guidance, teaching and leadership in the years to come.
